Detox

Upon admission, the therapeutic staff and our physician assess each client. The goal is to break the thought pattern that a chemical is needed to "feel better." By utilizing Twelve Step principals and alternative methods (such as nutritional supplements, herbs, aroma therapy, herbal baths, creative visualization techniques, etc.), we expose each individual to the experience of the healing process without the use of a drug, but with support from other people in recovery. This gives him/her the opportunity to experience how the Twelve Step program works! When deemed medically necessary, clients are provided with medication. If hospital detoxification is indicated, we have a transfer agreement with St. Helena Hospital. (Medications and services provided by St. Helena Hospital are not included as part of program cost and are the client's responsibility.)

Residential Treatment

For those who qualify for a residential setting, this level of care provides a drug free environment that is also free of triggers for clients that are compulsive gamblers. A safe homelike environment, with 24-hour support from peers and staff. Processing continues after the lectures and groups are over. The value of being in a safe place is that clients are able to let their guard down more quickly and are able to work through blocks that have prevented their ability to maintain their recovery program. Clients also get to experience the value of having basic needs met. This experience enhances personal motivation toward recovery.

Intensive Day Treatment

This level of care is appropriate for clients who live in a supportive environment and are capable of keeping a commitment to attend our intensive treatment program during the day while maintaining a recovery program. These clients participate fully in the Residential Treatment Program but return to their own environment each evening.

Outpatient Treatment

This level of care is appropriate for clients who live in a supportive environment, are able to keep their recovery commitment, and need to continue working and/or need to remain in their home environment. It includes education, individual and group counseling, and developing treatment and aftercare plans. A specific program is designed for each client according to his/her needs and availability to attending sessions.
