Clients are seen by a physician to determine the appropriateness for a social-model program. Their counselor completes a thorough diagnostic within the first three days, including the Chemical Personality Test (Chem-Per Test), DSM IV and other assessment tools. The treatment team supports the counselor in a thorough evaluation and assessment of the client's needs.
Clients are encouraged to share at group level and are also seen by their counselors in private sessions. Staff and client, addressing specific treatment needs on a weekly basis, formulate a treatment plan. Problem areas with specific goals are identified, and an appropriate approach is planned. Clients participate in the treatment planning process (with their counselor or the entire team) and are responsible for formulating Personal Recovery Plans (Action Steps) and an Aftercare Plan (Recovery Commitment). A report is written outlining each step of the planning process (Staff Assessment).
